A former idol has apologized after being accused of mocking the dating news between aespa‘s Karina and actor Lee Jae Wook.
On February 28, former OH MY GIRL member JinE shared an Instagram story, and it gained attention because the caption read, “karina karina karina nanrina (there’s an uproar) ㅋㅋ”
Unsurprisingly, it received a lot of backlash, with netizens believing that JinE should not have gotten involved in such huge news. However, as more found the post, other fans shared that she should’ve been more careful but shared sympathies that JinE was receiving a lot of hate in the very malicious comments.

On February 29, JinE shared an apology on her Instagram stories, explaining that she was also just sharing her thoughts on the news, pointing out that Karina is her favorite member.
I am sorry if it appeared to be offensive. I meant to say I was disappointed because she is also my favorite member.
— JinE
While JinE is technically still in the public eye, netizens hope that the awful Instagram comments will stop. Many shared that JinE is technically out of the spotlight, so should be able to voice her opinions, yet it wasn’t surprising that it did receive negative reactions.
