Dozens of new K-Pop groups debuted this year while, unfortunately, some established groups disbanded. Here are 9 groups that will not be continuing in 2024.
1. Jinjin & Rocky
Jinjin & Rocky was the second sub-unit formed by Fantagio for ASTRO. In February, Rocky left Fantagio and ASTRO after not renewing his contract, ending the sub-unit.
2. Moonbin & Sanha
Sadly, this ASTRO sub-unit did not so much disband as unexpectedly dissolve, as it could not continue on after Moobin’s passing on April 19. Following Moobin’s death, Fantagio confirmed that the sub-unit’s Weverse would be shut down on April 30.
3. Brave Girls
In February, Brave Entertainment announced that the group would officially disband after all four members left the agency. Two months after their disbandment, the former Brave Girls members signed with Warner Music Korea and re-debuted as BB Girls.
4. D1CE
D1CE was a five-member group formed by D1ce Entertainment in 2019. They disbanded at the end of January following their contract expiration.
5. GWSN
GWSN was formed in 2018 by Kiwi Pop (now known as The Wave Music). All seven members’ contracts were terminated in January by the Seoul Central District Court. Former member Miya later confirmed that the group had disbanded after winning their lawsuit against The Wave Music.
6. MOMOLAND
MOMOLAND was a girl group formed by MLD Entertainment through the 2016 reality show Finding Momoland. After leaving the company in January 2023, MOMOLAND officially disbanded on Valentine’s Day.
7. Snuper
Snuper debuted in 2015 under Widmay Entertainment as a six-moment boy group. The group disbanded in May after the members’ contracts with Widmay Entertainment ended.
8. TO1
TO1 debuted in 2020 after being formed by the 2019 Mnet reality show To Be World Klass. On December 17, it was announced that the group’s contract with WakeOne would be terminated on December 31.
9. VIXX LR
VIXX’s first sub-unit was formed in 2015, and it consisted of Leo and Ravi. In April, Ravi left VIXX, ending the sub-unit.
